i went to the mall last weekend for the first time in a while. i mostly shop secondhand now, and usually from apps like depop and poshmark, but i miss in-person shopping so much. putting on a cute outfit, walking in and out of stores, browsing items you don't need, and enjoying the smell of auntie anne's in the air. i feel so much nostalgia for the days before i was aware of how bad fast fashion was for the environment. i always loved taking my christmas money straight to forever 21 to buy new mini skirts, crop tops, and statement necklaces so i could get excited to show up to school after break in new outfits.

anyway, onto what i wore last week.

going outside in the winter meant that i had an opportunity to wear one of my several faux fur jackets. this one is originally from boohoo, yes, the brand that faced a lawsuit for false discount advertising. i did not get scammed though, because i bought this jacket secondhand from poshmark.

since i wasn't planning to do an outfit blog post, i didn't get any photos showing what i was wearing under the jacket. it was just a long sleeve knit striped dress, also bought secondhand.

but what are those over my sheer tights and knee socks? saint laurent SS16 festival rain boots! one of my favorite poshmark finds of all time, and a pair of boots i had dreamed about owning ever since i was 17 and watched the collection by hedi slimane on youtube over and over. i couldn't get enough of the looks in that collection, sparkly dresses styled with rubber boots and tiaras. i envied the models who got to walk down the runway wearing those outfits, but owning these boots 10 years later is the next best thing.

last year, i was inspired to buy a tiara because of this collection. would it have been a bit much to wear it to the mall? maybe. should i have worn it anyway? yes.

i topped off my mall outfit with one of my favorite accessories, my alexander wang rocco bag. i just LOVE a leather studded bag.

and what did i end up purchasing during my trip to the mall? not much at all, just a VS Pink long sleeve top with a cute little dog on it for only $9.99 on clearance. but i had a great time browsing victoria's secret.
